        Corrections Report:

Debbie G. reported- The Women’s Corrections is running smoothly. A new schedule has been made for August-December, with Karen k. on through September. Tina D. has been attending with one of the girls who is scheduled on occasion and will continue to do so. I have added her to go one time in November with myself and then put her on schedule by herself on time in December, if she feels comfortable doing so. I have take myself off the schedule for the month of august while Karen is still available because of my schedule, but will continue to rotate to make things fair for everyone involved.

Dennis will be done in December so we have time to confirm a new representative for the Men’s Corrections .

We have brought in more literature and have money designated to order more, but will spread this money out over a period of time. We want people to take literature/Books but fid that it should be brought in gradually. We are grateful for those individuals and groups who have donated to the cause.

         Respectfully submitted, Debbie

        Webmaster Report:

Have continued being active to keep the district 17 website updated as well as the website at Hostek Web Host site for District 17.  This has been performed in my home office including the changing time of Wednesday 5 pm meeting to 6 pm on website meeting listing.

On Monday, July 27 was at district office for updates including option #9 (events & info).  Someone had been inside district office and ripped off the winter insulation covering the double windows facing west letting the sunshine beat into the office for the past few days with the outside temperature hovering at near 90 degrees.  Inside the office the temperature was well over 100 degrees.  What upset the hell out of this was the fact who ever did this did not bother to hang up the curtain rod and curtains.  The office is secured and so whoever entered the office had to have a key.

Also discovered the AA Hotline off with the computer having shut down with the last call recorded on July 13.  The computer was demanding on the screen for user to reset the password.  The user (webmaster) never set up a password to begin with as an option and with the heat inside the office was not interested in checking further at this time the option capabilities.

Attended the GSR monthly meeting at 6 p.m.

The District 17 Office has 350 meeting cards in drawer.

The 0900 AA Hotline registered 12  calls the past month.

The District website recorded 135  hits this past month with the counter at 10,535 total hits.

Any member of the fellowship with sobriety can become a contact on the option #8 contact listing for a 3-month period.  This listing should periodically be updated, especially for those who are about to take a 3-month turn with their listing on option #8.

As a regular monthly reminder, must train people (female/male) the operation as coordinator of the 0900 AA Hotline and as webmaster of the district website.  Anyone interested in getting involved with being webmaster or coordinator for 0900 AA Hotline please contact a District 17 committee member, or show up at the monthly GSR district meeting the last Monday of each month at 6 p.m. at District 17 Office at Alano Club Iron Mountain.

       Old Business:

Debbie G reported on the question of the Intergroup Balance in regards for information on putting on the intergroup in 2016. She spoke to Steve S., and he said to look at the report again, but he felt it was due to less money being taking in this year. He did not feel the expenses were any greater. He reinstated that he put the $100.00 down for 2016, and the balance owed would be $250.00 (total rent, $350.00). It does not look like the parking lot deal will go through to eliminate rent.

Question was raised as to whether or not Rick was taking over intergroup.

Bruce T. will speak with Rick in regards to intergroup and the intergroup checking account statements.

Old Business report was motioned and accepted.

        New Business:

The Wednesday Gratitude Meeting has been changed to 6:00pm.

John R. stated that a gentleman was interested in training with Cliff for Webmaster Service work

Norm S. asked if we had hearing impaired meetings and unfortunately we do not.

Karen K attended some Area Reps of DCM, VA, and North point asked about getting Meeting cards. She will be seeking the proper channels to get cards out to these prospective interests.

Bruce T. asked if there was interest in having a seminar on GSR representing.

Bruce T. suggested that we remind our groups of the topic of Anonymity and bring back this topic for discussion next month.

May GSR Meeting will be at the Iron Mountain Alano Club on Monday, August 31st at 6:00pm.

When anyone anywhere reaches out I want the hand of AA always to be there and for that I am responsible.

        Respectfully;

         Linda P. Secretary, Dist. 17
