Corrections Report:

I have been working back and forth with Iron County trying to get more literature, etc. to the person going into jail. In the midst of this, I have found out that she has not been going in, do to some of the women disrupting the meeting. The meeting is held in the cell. I have collected readings of Acceptance, The Preamble, and The Promises and some copies of How it Works for her to bring in when meetings resume. There is also a copy of the Corrections Policy for her to read in regards to anyone disrupting the meeting. Just not sure how that would work since the meeting is held within the cell.

We also thought that maybe one of us could go with her to a meeting when resumed in September and I asked for the person in charge to ask about this. Would it be allowed? A phone call was made by person going into jail and message left. I also called and left a message but have not heard anything back either. So, at this time, I will give information and literature to someone in her area who will get it to contact, so when meetings do resume, they will be set to go.

As far as Iron Mountain, we have a schedule set through end of year and back to three of us from October-April.
Unfortunately, the new woman observing some meetings has decided it is not something she can do at this time, so again, we are looking for one, preferably two women who would like to train in for this kind of service. They need two years of sobriety.

As far as the men in corrections goes, Dennis will be doing meetings until December and then resigning. I have spoken to the person suggested as taking over the Co-chairperson's position a couple of times. He has expressed interest if there were other men to join in so he could do a schedule as I do for women. At this time, I feel as though it is not my responsibility to go any further with this, and will turn it over tonight for discussion/decisions on who and what is next.

     Respectfully submitted, Debbie
