District 17 Newsletter

 

    The district monthly GSR meeting was held Monday, December 28th, 2015 at the Iron Mountain, Mi. Alano Club.  In attendance were: Bruce T., Matt S., Betty S., Norm F., John R., Pete E., Cliff W., and Linda P. The next meeting is scheduled for January 25th, 2016 at 6:00pm at the Alano Club.

Secretary Report:

·        November GRS Meeting Notes read and accepted.

 

Corrections Report:

·        Debbie G. text Secretary That Schedule for Women's Correction was almost complete for the next few months. We are still in need of a Corrections Chair person and more Men's corrections volunteers.

 

Webmaster Report:

 

    Have continued being active to keep the district 17 website updated as well as the website at Hostek Web Host site for District 17.  This has been performed in my home office.

     On Wednesday, December 16 reported to the district Office to perform some updated work with the district computer installing the computer printer and office maintenance.  Also, organized folders in the archive file cabinet involving financial, local AA Meeting registration forms, etc.
     On Monday, December 28 was at district office for updating webmaster report and attending the monthly GSR meeting at 6:00 p.m.

     The District 17 Office has _150_ meeting cards in drawer.
     The 0900 AA Hotline registered _86_ calls from Nov 9 to Dec 28 including 8 calls with option #8 and 33 calls with no option pressed.
     The District website recorded _238_ hits this past month with the counter at 11,668 total hits.


    Any member of the fellowship with sobriety can become a contact on the option #8 contact listing for a 3-month period.  This listing should periodically be updated, especially for those who are about to take a 3-month turn with their listing on option #8.

     As a regular monthly reminder, must train people (female/male) the operation as coordinator of the 0900 AA Hotline and as webmaster of the district website.  Anyone interested in getting involved with being webmaster or coordinator for 0900 AA Hotline please contact a District 17 committee member, or show up at the monthly GSR district meeting the last Monday of each month at 6 p.m. at District 17 Office at Alano Club Iron Mountain.

    Old business:

·        Bruce T. may be scheduling a workshop on "The family afterwards" Group discussion on possible panels and Alanon and other Group involvement.

·        We are still in need of volunteers for Mens Corrections Chair, District Treasurer, alternate DCM, Archivist, Webmaster and Hot line coordinator.

 

Old Business report was motioned and accepted.

 

    New Business:

 

·       AA meeting cards will still need to be updated and restocked. Discussion on possible School volunteer project. Bruce T. will be looking into this.

·       Reminder to keep suggesting volunteers, contributions.
