Webmaster Report:
Have continued being active to keep the district 17 website updated as well as the website at Hostek Web Host site for District 17. This has been performed in my home office.
On Saturday, March 5 at my home office gave Jerry P. an initial session of operation of District website and a tour of Hostek Web Host site.
On Friday, March 11 reported to the District office as the AA 0900 Hotline was off due to the District computer being in demand in requesting a new password. Along with help from Jerry G. was able to determine that every 42 days the computer needed to reset for a new password even so we do not even use a password in operating the district computer. After a couple of hours of research was able to reset that password function from every 42 days back to zero.
On Thursday, March 24 established a new account for domain district17a74.org at Hostek webhost site under a fictitious name (Douglas March) and fictitious email (dmarch46@live.com) at a cost of $63.69 to have the domain transferred from Cliff W account. The reasoning for the fictitious name and email is for the fact he will never die. By Friday, March 25 the domain was transferred. All copies of Hostek files are stored in red folder in district office.
On Monday, March 28
was at district office to update options #8 & #9 of the 0900 AA Hotline,
update webmaster report and to attend the monthly GSR meeting at 6 p.m.
The District
17 Office has _950_ meeting cards in drawer.
The 0900 AA Hotline registered _18_ calls in the past month including 1
call with option 8 and 8 calls with no option pressed.
The District website recorded _243_ hits this past month with the
counter at 12,887 total hits. With research at district office I discovered
that each time a user links to a page on site and returns to Home Page the
counter adds up. No matter what, the traffic on district website
increasingly has become heavier and is a true asset to people recovery.
Any member of
the fellowship with sobriety can become a contact on the option #8 contact
listing for a 3-month period. This listing should periodically be updated,
especially for those who are about to take a 3-month turn with their listing
on option #8.
As a regular monthly reminder, must train people (female/male) the
operation as coordinator of the 0900 AA Hotline and as webmaster of the
district website. Anyone interested in getting involved with being
webmaster or coordinator for 0900 AA Hotline please contact a District 17
committee member, or show up at the monthly GSR district meeting the last
Monday of each month at 6 p.m. at District 17 Office at Alano Club Iron
Mountain.
Living my life 1-day at a time,
Cliff W.
