District 17 Newsletter

 

     The district monthly GSR meeting was held Monday, September 26, 2016 at the Iron Mountain, Mi. Alano Club.  In attendance were: Betty S., Bruce L., John R., Norm F., Matt S., Scott V., James B., Dave G., Mary C., Jim B., Karen K., Cliff W.  (total 12)

The next meeting is scheduled for November 7th, 2016 at 6:00pm at the Alano Club.

 

DCM Report:

Secretary Report:

·        Secretary, Linda P., absent

Financial Report:

·        Pending Per Secretary

Corrections Report:

·        All's well with corrections.

·        A can of coffee was given to Dickinson and Florence county correction meetings donated by New Hope Group, Iron Mountain VA.

·        Dickinson county is now taking photo id for people going into the meeting.

 

WEBMASTER REPORT:

       Have continued being active to keep the district 17 website updated as well as the website at Hostek Web Host site for District 17.  This has been performed in my home office.  Must find out who all has a key to District Office.  The New Hope Group of Iron Mountain has coffee stored in office for correction chairs.

     On Thursday, Sep 22 was at District office as I received no answer from the 0900 AA Hotline.  Having installed AVG free antivirus component, found that with their steady updating their program AVG was demanding a restart of computer.  I deleted the AVG component from District office computer.

     On Monday Sep 26 at District Office for updates to both options #8 and #9 of the AA Hotline replacing AA contact numbers with 5 different contacts for the next 3 month period for option #8.  Attended GSR monthly meeting at 6 p.m.
     The District 17 Office has _450_ meeting cards in drawer.
     The 0900 AA Hotline registered _28_ calls in the past month   including _3_ calls with option 8 and _9_ calls with no option pressed as of 9-26-16.
     The District website recorded _316_ hits in the past month with the counter at 14,906 total hits as of 9-26-16. 

     It is great to see that District 20 Manistique has now developed a website giving Area 74 a total of 11 Districts of 24 to have their own District websites on the Internet.

    Any member of the fellowship with sobriety can become a contact on the option #8 contact listing for a 3-month period.  This listing should periodically be updated, especially for those who are about to take a 3-month turn with their listing on option #8.

     As a regular monthly reminder, must train people (female/male) the operation as coordinator of the 0900 AA Hotline and as webmaster of the district website.  Anyone interested in getting involved with being webmaster or coordinator for 0900 AA Hotline please contact a District 17 committee member, or show up at the monthly GSR district meeting the last Monday of each month at 6 p.m. at District 17 Office at Alano Club Iron Mountain.
