                                                      District 17, A.A. Corrections Report

10/10/06 Mailed out books donated from Friday Night Masonic Group (Kingsford) and Monday Night Early Group (Iron Mountain) to Keith K. whom will distribute them for me on his side of our district. Thank you to all involved in this from all involved. I know the ladies that do the Iron County Corrections Women’s Meeting will greatly appreciate the support and encouragement.

Laura is still in our prayers- God Bless.

10/13/06 Contacted Dylan N. about pamphlets and possibility of Area helping out on purchase of books being ordered for Camp Ottawa. Budget is spent for northern Wisc. and Area is very low and our districts corrections has received past and present.

10/15/06 Spoke to Keith K.about order for Camp Ottawa and he said they had a few more Big Books (few in ruff shape), so we changed the order around to more 12X12's and more importantly Living Sober.

10/15/06 Dylan called about pamphlet order, that he had them and said he would bring it to 3 Lakes.

10/21/06 Steve S. District 17 very own DCM called to say Dylan could not make it as he was experiencing serious transportation problems.

10/22/06 Dylan called to apologize for not being at 3 Lakes, explained his situation and said he will get pamphlets out in post as soon as possible. I do appreciate all he has done for us and for me in my present position, his support and care has been encouraging saying the least, let alone the mini meetings.

In the month of October….. Cliff W. (District Treasurer) had done the following.

The Daily Planner does come out on either a Wednesday or Thursday two to four times monthly.   Corrections were made to meeting schedule for AA, the AA hotline # for Iron County and the description between an OPEN and Closed AA Meeting.
Open AA Meeting: For anyone that thinks that they may have a problem with alcohol themselves.
Closed AA Meeting: For alcoholics interested in the recovery process from alcoholism.

Probation officers of Dickinson County:   I met as GSR of the New Hope Group of the VAMC and suggested that they court order offenders to the Open AA Meetings held at the VA. I explained the differences of Open to Closed AA meetings. That drug addicts should go to NA meetings. I presented the probation department with the Open Meetings schedule held at the VAMC weekly.

Pete Schlitt is now semi-retired. The 0900 # needs updating. What should we do? On an AA meeting card, all changes compared to what is now on 0900 messages would be presented to Mr. Schlitt along with a copy of the Meeting Schedule for District 17 on the website.

The Area74 website is now under construction for updated changes and a new look.

I propose that for the next six months, the Monthly District meeting be held on Tuesday (at Trinity Church in Iron Mountain) and then Wednesday (at the VAMC in Iron Mountain) starting at 6:30 p.m. To switch back and forth with set dates.
