District  17 GSR Meeting

 

 The monthly GSR meeting was held November 27, 2017 at the Iron Mountain, Mi. Alano Club. In attendance were: Angie Z, Larry L, Dave M, Bruce L, Jerry P, Jim D, Dave G, Karen K, Cindy S, Scott V, James B. (total 11)

 

The next meeting is scheduled for Christmas The 25th. 2017 at 6:00pm at the Alano Club.

 

DCM Report: Cindy S  

Rick: Wanted to show his appreciation to Cindy new position as DCM for D.17

Angie: We forgot to make a vote for the next monthly meeting . It is scheduled for Christmas, so do we want to have our meeting before? 12-18-17 or after? 1-2-18. Please email me quickly to decide.

Angie Z: I passed out flyers, Dates to Remember, and the next intergroup is in Marquette, Dec., 2,2017

Rick: said Jim talked to him to give his report. Thank you to Larry L. for the new coffee pot at the jail, says it works well . Real fluctuation in numbers 1-10, sometimes 1 sometimes 10.

Cindy S: Talk to Debbie and everything is going well for the girls.

Scott V: Our meetings at Florence jail a lot of fluctuation in numbers too , sometimes 1 sometimes 6. And we need coffee for our jail meetings.

WEBMASTER REPORT: Jerry

 Jerry P: said the webpage needs to be switched over and we need help to create one. Larry L. is going to call Dan I. to see if he can help. Bruce L. asked if we can contact Steve S. and ask him to come to the next meeting.

       Have continued being active to keep the district 17 website updated as well as the website at Hostek Web Host site for District 17.  This has been performed in my home office. 

     The District website recorded _447_ Home page hits in the past month with the counter at 18,795 total hits as of 11-27-17.

Karen K: Iron Mountain intergroup will be April 14,2018

New Business:

Cindy S our New DCM has an assembly meeting in April. She needs us GSR's to go to our meetings and vote on , whether, we should accept WICYPAA donations?

What is WICYPAA?

          Wisconsin Conference of Young People in Alcoholics Anonymous.

Large numbers of young people showing Visible evidence of Sobriety through our program of AA.

Cindy S, also, made it aware that in our Area is in the RED!! She asking if our groups could donate to Area, please if you can....give $50 extra dollars to them. Whatever your group usually sends....send an extra $50 to that. One time throughout the next year.

Cindy asks us to come back and tell her how our groups responded, we'll vote on this WICYPAA in January/February

And Cindy was asking us if we want to meet 15 minutes earlier for people how want to get to the meeting at 7? Vote on this next month.

Karen K: The money that was collected in our area to help Rockport , they got so much response that they ARE NOT TAKING ANYMORE MONEY. So ours was return, $900 This came from groups and intergroup. So we are asking our groups if we can still use this money for our Speaker System. And what left, we can put in a benevolence fund for D.17?

Jim B: I would like to put on a New Year's Party anyone interested contact Jim.

Jerry: Just letting ya know we are out of coffee for the jails. Help, need coffee?
