D.17 GSR meeting

 

The monthly GSR meeting was held March 26, 2018 at the Iron Mountain, Mi. Alano Club. In attendance were: Cindy S, Jennifer, Scott V, Linda P, Patty R, Debbie G, Vicki, Don, Jim, Larry L, Angie Z, Jim B, Dave, Bruce L, Betty, Dan I, Kyle. (total 17)

The next meeting is scheduled for April 30, 2018 at 6:00pm at the Alano Club.

 

Secretary Report:

Angie Z: The D. was asking if we have any volunteers for the Public Information Committee. Vicki, Jim, Jennifer and Angie are going to Have our first meeting on April 16,2018 after the Monday night meeting back at the Alano club. So starting around 8:15 pm. For anyone still interested in volunteering. I also want to say , I am sorry for the emails that haven’t gotten to you. Karen and Bruce, my apologizes.

Financial Report:

Patty R: Dave G is not here tonight but I brought the Financial statement. Thank you Patty.

Larry L: Karen had given us the money from what we got back for donating to Rockport TX ….this is the money that was sent back to Karen 500 dollars , and what we have all donated to the UP Speaker System. That was 420 dollars. I was able to get the Speaker system, a microphone. And if we agree…the microphone stand? The total in money spent is .around $650.00 dollars. There is still $270.00 left .

Dan I: Wants to make a motion for Larry to get the microphone stand. That Motion was 2^nd and Accepted.

Corrections Report:

Debbie G: The new schedule has gone out. Betty will no longer been with us in corrections. Everything is going really well. About one meeting a month. And thank you to the Monday night meeting for donation of 6 cans of coffee. And a Big Thank you to Betty for all her service.

Jim B: We’ve got to separate meetings in Dickinson Co. ¾ in one meeting and 15/18 in the other meeting. Thanks for the books , every time we have to refill the book box. And we’ve got a new guy, who’s got a little under 2 years, he is going with us to Florence to experience the jail setting.

Dan I: Florence, we have about 6 people at our meetings. We added a New reading at the beginning of Every Meeting we’re in the jail. Everything is going well.

Don: What’s the New reading?

Dan I: This group comes to you….Courtesy of the Florence jail. Any commotion in the meeting and you can lose your privilege to be here.

 

WEBMASTER REPORT:

Dan I: For our website, I need to know all the current meetings and there location/time.

Larry L: That webpage, is what the District decides to put on it.

Cindy S: When do we do the Next meeting cards? When they start running low?

Betty: Bruce T. did them last year, will he be able to help us again?

Cindy S: Yes, Bruce T. will help us again.

Linda P: Some of our meetings are “hit and miss” throughout the winter to summer. Some groups have no GSR. When I get a call on the hotline….I let that person know , the strong groups, the person open the door might be a little late, wait 10 min.

Debbie G: Also, the ones that have been inactive for quite a while.

Cliff W. by email: Have continued being active to keep the district 17 website updated as well as the website at Hostek Web Host site for District 17.  This has been performed in my home office.

The District website recorded _300_ Home page hits in the month of March with the counter at 20,335 total hits as of 3-26-18.

On March 24, 2018 a total of $69.48 was paid by district debit card to host site Hostek.com for another year of registration & fees.  A copy of receipt was mailed to Treasurer District 17 P. O. Box 415.

Old Business:

Cindy S: The Hot/Cold food sheets that Karen had passed out to us for our groups…..Need to be turned back in on April 6,2018 there is a manila envelope for these sheets at the Alano club. We still need volunteers for set-up, kitchen help, and clean-up.

New Business:

Linda P: When I answer my phone for our D.17, AA hotline……I need BOTH AA and NA meetings. For me to carry the message for that caller!

Vicki: Our Saturday Game Night is going very well. Lots of SOBER people wanted to have some SOBER Fun. Come join us any Saturday at 7:30 @ The Alano Club. Everything has been Awesome!

DMC Report:

Cindy S: The “NOW and THEN” is going virtual, But if you still want it in paper form and sent to your address, it will start costing . $10 a year for that meeting. They are looking for someone one to set-up and take the position of Finances in the Area. The next Area Assembly is April 7, 2018 in Three Lakes, WI. Anyone interested be at the Area Assembly.
