District 17 GSR meeting

 

The monthly GSR meeting was held on June 25, 2018 at the Iron Mountain, Mi. Alano Club. In attendance were : Bruce L, Torv T, Don L, Debbie G, Larry L, Cindy S, Dave G, Vicki G.

 

The next meeting is scheduled for July 30,2018 at 6:00pm at the Alano Club.

 

Secretary Report: Angie Z.-Pass flyers around for our meetings.

P.I Committee: Vicki G, Angie Z

Angie Z: Let me tell you what’s been going on with the P.I. comm.. Both Vicki G. and myself have starting getting business contacts, names and numbers. To let them get familiar faces of contact for A.A. We are putting together the Guide letters to send , with postage paid envelope, with the Alano address as a mailing address for P.I. committee responses. We are going to hold a Community gathering to introduce AA to our community, How they can find us? I’ve ask a church in Iron River and I’m going to ask for a church in Iron Mountain area as well. So, the P.I. committee is asking if the District with help with the start up of AA literature, pamphlets, books, and AA approved videos to help with the schools.

Debbie G: What about the racks to hold the pamphlets?

Larry L: Ask at intergroups that District 17 is starting up, early stages, for racks. Put it in the minutes that Angie sends out.

Bruce L: Motels? I make a motion for $250.00 from the district for start up.

Debbie G: Airports?

Debbie G: Schedule is good through July. It’s here or there , sometimes is 8/10, others 2, and sometimes it’s split. Go with the Flo. We need books.

Bruce L: District 17 donating a $100 dollars for books for the Corrections

Jim B: Need more volunteers. Talk to Torv. I need to talk to Linda P. About the coffee in the jail. The smaller version of the Big Book ($5) Daily Reflection, Living Sober also. Randville Group donated Grapevines

 

WEBMASTER REPORT: Dan I.

 

DCM Report: Cindy S.-Went to the Spring Conference got the Delegate’s report. Which was good. We’ll be voting on…..If the Chair can give his opinion on this matter of WICYPAA.

Intergroup: Karen and Cindy S.

Karen K: Gave Cindy The Intergroup Report balance brought forward$1,459.67. Did pay $200 rent to church & $72.65 for soda- Money was returned. Spent $64.08 on table decorations, paper products & silverware & misc. All door prizes were donated. Have all these things saved for next year. Balance in account: $1,395.59.

Old Business:

Bruce L: Take a meeting card to the IM Daily News

Vicki G: Will take the meeting card to the paper.

Don L: I got a call on the 900 hotline, the report, from the public…..far from good.

Larry L: There are mistakes on the back side of the New meeting cards.

New Business:

Larry L: No one was here on Saturday night at the 6pm Alano Club meeting. I got a call from a New guy.

Angie Z (e-mail from Cliff): An update from Cliff, Corrections:  The New Hope Group (VAMC IM) has purchased some coffee for Corrections people stored in the District Office, Alano Club. (A total of 5 cans)

Also From Cliff, the 4 Meetings at the VAMC, IM under The New Hope Group (Thur 7pm., Sat 10a.m. & 7 p.m. & Sun 10 a.m. HAS MOVED! Their meetings from 3-West Behavior Unit conference  room to 2nd floor East End above the Unit Care entrance in Conference Room #2376.

Cindy S: Can you put a note on the old room letting our people know it has been moved? And I’m asking for $150.00 for Sobriety at Sunset/District 17 picnic
