Peace, Love and Serenity to all my fellow AAs,
It is truly hard to believe that January of 2007 is soon going to be history. It is good we live one day at a time! Sometimes one hour or one minute at a time is enough!

The January district meeting was held January, 23rd at 6:30 pm at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Iron Mtn.  Present were: Cliff W., Dennis S., Brian D., Aaron H., Gordy P., Marion H., Mark G. and Steve S.

We opened with the serenity prayer. The Treasury report and the corrections report were given by Cliff W. and Dennis S.

0900 – We voted to procure a computer so we can get the 0900 number upgraded and in working order. We also will get software to have the computer answer the 0900 and callers will be given a menu of daily meetings or a list of phone numbers so people calling can reach an AA contact for help. The 0900 number is terribly outdated with wrong meeting information. We also discussed several places where we can set up the computer. Ideally we would have a small AA office, maybe the beginning our Central Intergroup office. Keep an eye out for a cheap office to rent by the month or year, very cheap! Yea, I know, what a dreamer.

Intergroup – There will be an update on the Intergroup at our next meeting and the date for the first meeting will be set. Also if anyone has any suggestions for service workshops, meetings, etc., we will discuss it. We will be keeping with a chair and a co-chair that will chair the next year. IF you chair or co-chair keep all receipts and check statements. Do not throw out the statements or receipts. You will be asked for a full accounting of all monies spent and received. It would be great to keep all records for the archives for the history of our area.

AA Picnic - A new chair for the annual AA picnic is needed for 2007.  Anyone interested contact Steve S. The money for the picnic will be handled by the Intergroup Fund Chair and Co-Chair. Same standards apply to the picnic. Keep all receipts and any statements.

Contributions –Our contributions in the Area are up as of last month. Keep the contributions to GSO flowing.

Financial Security –  The district has set an example of checks and balances as far as the treasury goes. The DCM is now monitoring the District Treasury by internet. We are doing this because we believe that all treasuries should be monitored and statements provided by all treasurers. Do you know how much and where all of your groups contributions are going? If not ask for a full accounting of your treasurer (y) and the funds in it. All monies should be accounted for and promptly deposited if a checking account is used. If cash only then please verify how much your group contributes and collects and verify it by a second person each week if possible. We are only making suggestions not rules. Each group is autonomous and does what it wants as long as it does not affect A.A. as a whole. But, each group is also responsible to see to it that the groups’ contributions are used according to group conscience.

Women Jail meetings -: Camille really needs a break! We really need women to help out! Please see Camille, Shelley or Dennis S. for more info.

New Meetings – I.M., Friday night at 6:00 pm., young peoples meeting, Holy Trinity Episcopal Church.  I.M., Saturday-6PM , Trinity United Methodist Church, basement. Goodman, WI, Thursday, 7PM, New Town Hall.

Meeting Cards – New meeting cards will be printed in March or April. Any changes please get them to Cliff W. or come to the next district meeting and get them recorded before the cards are printed. This is your once  a year chance to get the updates done. If you need meeting lists: Print them off of the website. These are updated!
