District 17 meeting

The monthly District meeting was held February 25, 2018 at the Iron Mountain, Mi. Alano Club. In attendance were: Angie Z, Larry L, Patty R, Debbie G, Melissa H, Kyle D, Brian D, Josh B, Dan I, Karen K, Dave G.

The next meeting is scheduled for March 25,2019 at 6:00pm at the Alano Club.

Secretary Report: Angie Z.- Passed out the latest flyers. An UPDATE for 2019 Intergroup schedule

Debbie G: Going good. Couldn’t have a meeting last week because of snow!!

Melissa H: New Hope Group donates a lot to the Corrections.

Karen K: Thank you to the New Hope Group, thank you VA.

Jim B: Called and gave Larry his report to read to us…..THE JAILS NEED CONTINUAL DONATIONS FOR BIG BOOKS. PLEASE. Thank Torv for helping out. We are asking for VOLUTEERS for Corrections. You need 1 yr. of Sobriety, and talk to Jim B. to get you started.

The Website is running, The Hotline is running. Adding Patty R to hotline. As soon as I get same info for PI committee, I will that on the website too.

Angie Z: Got a rack of AA info at the Intermission’s at Angeli’s  grocery store in Iron River. Waiting on a call back from the Iron River HS, to see if we can talk . I will also email Dan with PI info and where you can find us….

Melissa H: Don’t forget Northpoint/case manager.

Patty R: There is also an AA rack at the medical clinic , thanks to Patty and her Dr. in Iron Mountain.

Alternate DCM Larry L: I will be giving our District Report on March 9,2019 at 3 Lakes, WI.

Old Business:               

Intergroup: Karen and CindyS.

Karen K: Paid $ to the church already for our Intergroup  April 13,2019. We have the same speakers from last year. I will need some help getting everything from one place to the intergroup. Got the Decorations, soda/water, Angie’s Making our flyer. At the next meeting, we will had out sign up sheets and for clean-up, and what to bring.

New Business:

MONEY FOR BIG BOOKS FROM DISTRICT, HOW MUCH? For corrections

Debbie G: District $  going into Jails.

Kyle K: I found on ON-LINE site to buy Books for half the cost. The print is just what we have in our Books, but they are Red not Blue. A BIG % doing it on-line, and free shipping anything over 75$.

Karen K: Traditions

Larry L: I say we put 200$ for Big Books for Corrections.

Larry will pick up the Big Books at 3 Lakes, WI at the Area meeting on March 9, 2019.

Because of the continual NEED for BB in the jails……What do you think of the on-line site to get books for Corrections?? Send me Feedback please, bring it to your groups.
