A.A. Area 74, District 17 Corrections Report 2/28/07                     Page 2

1/27/07   Two cans of coffee at present. Received 10 Pocket Big Books and 10 Living Sober books from  The New Hope A.A. Groups of the Iron Mountain V.A. Hospital.  A big Thank You to all for your support.

1/30/07 Delivered half the above books to the Dickinson County Corrections Tuesday Night Mens A.A. meeting.

2/2/07  Dropped off the remainder of the books received with Camille and told her I would make note and place sign at Alano Club for volunteers’  that are needed for Women’s Corrections A.A. Meeting.   Requirements are two years continuous clean/sober time, and will have to be approved by the Head Administrator of the Dickinson County Correctional Facility.

This is a service and personal program growth position for those whom wish to help host the meetings. At present the two women doing the meeting have to trade off for personal breaks and each more or less does this meeting by themselves while relieving the other.  Would be great if  our area could get two more volunteers to help each of the present women - in these meetings two heads thinking can do better than one.  If interested please contact yours truly Dennis S. 906-563-9003.
2/2/07 Called Keith K. in Iron River, still no one inquired or volunteered to do Iron County Corrections A.A. Meeting.  So has it may be for time to come until trust in God becomes a reality.
After call typed up and printed flyers to take out to all my local meetings for volunteers for Women’s A.A. Correction in Dickinson County.

2/5/07 Have a volunteer for women’s, making contact and writing a letter of  approval for corrections Administrator.

2/17/07 Dylan N. Area 74 Chairperson for corrections explained lost men’s meeting  in Iron County as no one wants to step up.  Had a women volunteer for Dickinson County Corrections Women’s A.A.  Still looking for one more if possible.

2/23/07 Called Lt. Giguere about women’s meeting, the sheriff has had some medical issues, so until he get together with him, just have to be patient, but he will contact volunteer to set interview.

Dennis S., Corrections Chair.
