Greeting fellow AA’s, Thank God spring has
almost sprung! It has been a long winter. Sometimes even simple things become
complicated in Life. I had a surgery almost three weeks ago and the results of
the anesthesia and pain medication afterwards became almost a nightmare. I went
through a depression that was downright scary. It was as if I was back at the
proverbial jumping off place at the end of my drinking career. The important
thing is that AA can prepare us for this, and with help from other AA’s and a
lot of prayer and meditation we are able to stay sober through these situations.
I never had drinking thoughts which is a miracle, but I had a whole lot of self
pity and anger with people places and things. It sounds like acceptance is the
answer to all my problems. I know I will keep going to meetings because it is
alcohol-ism not alcohol-wasm!
The March district meeting was held March 27th , at the Trinity United
Methodist Church at 808 Carpenter Ave., Iron Mountain, 6:30 p.m.. In attendance
were Steve S., Cliff W., Brian D., Aaron H., Dennis S., Jennifer J., and Terry.
We opened with the serenity prayer. The
Financial Report
and the correction’s report were given by Cliff W. and Dennis S. If the GSR’s
from your group is not attending District meetings, you have no say in what
happens in your District. Ask your GSR to attend or vote a new one in who will
attend. Or send a member of your group to find out what is going on.
0900 – We voted at the meeting to set up the new District Computer at
Cliff W’s address (100 West F Street, Iron Mountain) for at least a six month
period. We decided to do this because we don’t have a permanent place for our
office yet and since Cliff is doing the setup and maintenance for the time being
it is best for him and all involved. We are still looking for our office place
and the Alano Club is still the #1 choice with rent being $20.00 per month for
the room needed. There is a lot of meeting that are well attended so it may be a
good choice also because of its’ central location and the District meetings may
be attended by more members. A bit of research and some carpentry work will need
to be accomplished before the move could take place. If anyone knows of a room
or office that can be rented for $20.00 or less per month let me know. We have
to pay approximately $45.00 to have the phone line moved to each place we want
the computer setup so we don’t want to do it too often. We also will need
internet access at some point also. The last thing we need to do is get the
voice software which will cost around $35.00.

This is the group’s job.
Women’s Jail Meetings: We still need another woman to attend the Dickinson
County Correctional AA meeting. Please read the enclosed corrections report on
the following page. We are hurting in Iron County for a chairperson.
New Meetings – I.M., Friday night at 6:00 p.m.., young peoples meeting,

to put Alanon meetings back on the card. The cards will be printing within the
