A.A. Area 74, District 17 Corrections Report 11/27/07

10/23/07 Mailed out Books donated by Early Friday Night Group - Masonic Lodge in Kingsford to Jill in iron County for their Women Correctional Meeting. Much thanks to all for your service, support, and co-operation towards this meeting.

11/12/07 Received 4 12X12's from Early Monday Night Group in Iron Mountain and then on 11/20/07 brought those Books into Dickinson County Correctional Meeting. All books are marked on the inside as to what group donated them.

11/20/07 Sent letter for Lt. Brian Price, Head Administrator of Dickinson County Correctional Center about the approval of Bonnie L. for being cleared and allowed to do Women A.A. meeting. He called following day and stated her going in with someone for about 4 weeks so she could learn the ropes and get acclimated to doing this meeting.

When Bonnie meets with Lt. Price then she can go in with Camille whom is still doing meeting and will continue until things are situated. Lots of back and forth to get a ball rolling.

11/27/07 Still have one can of coffee marked and on reserve for our corrections meeting. Camille said she is using the same box that the men use downstairs so that explains all the books on hand as they go up to cells and then filter back into box.

Special Note to All in District 17!!!!!!!!!!!

Terry M. is still in need of some one to volunteer to assist him in doing the Florence County Mens correctional A.A. Meeting. They are not as stick about clean time as Dickinson and Iron Counties are on their policies, so exxeptions are possible for someone with about 6-8 months in continuous recovery to assist Terry. Call: Dennis at

906-563-9003.

To all the brave and courageous men of Iron County, your county correctional center does not hold an A.A. meeting. The call has been out for over a year now and no one will take the chance of trying to carry a message and maybe plant the seeds of recovery in those that really could use it. If you are interested Contact me Dennis S. at 906-563-9003 and I will do my best to help get this meeting back on track, as my term as chair is expiring and I don't know at this time if I will accept another term or just be the contact person.

The Big Book states service is the corner stone of the foundation of sobriety

Respectfully submitted; Dennis S.
