A.A. Area 74, District 17 Corrections Report 3/25/08

First part of month I contacted Keith K. about Camp Ottowa A.A. meetings and if he had any needs, to which he could use five (5) more Big Books full size paper back. I would also recommend five more Living Sober books along with this request. Keith also said that he left all the literature for the old Iron County Men’s correctional A.A. meeting in jail library so there should be books there and he will try to check in on the matter. See Below.

I confess to having messed upped one week with the women’s corrections meeting by showing up at 8 P.M. instead of 7, Bonnie was long gone and they would not let me host it by myself. The second time I did Women’s corrections with our friend Bonnie no one came down. Then she had a loss in the family the following week, and for the next two weeks vacation.

So I gave our friend and my Big Sister Vikki a call and she said she would go in with me and give it a try. First time is an experience and she will do one more week with me and then I will take Bonnie back in. Upon which we will see how Lt. Price is with the situation, he rules on all matters.

In closing, I crossed 24 years yesterday, there is no way I could have made it this far by myself. This program and all the people involved with it (especially before I was born in’54) have made this possible. This thing called Legacy is a value I have acquired along the way. I am not a leader or statesmen, but my God of understanding through this relationship based on His/Her forgiveness has shown me in my heart the things I can do to perpetuate this gift of Legacy.

The silent voice inside tells all. I think San Quentin Prison Warden Clinton T. Duffy listened to this voice because he hooked up with our fellow brother Warren T. to get the legacy of A.A. Meetings in correctional facilities. Warden Duffy knew (the key is knowing) what was causing all the damage to human lives - thus correction meeting began in 1942; 66 years of legacy and salvation to the alcoholic that still suffers.

I hope someone in Iron County is listening to the silent voice inside.
