                                     GSR "Cheat Sheet"

The following is helpful information/reminders about the duties of the GSR at the Area level. This is not meant to be a substitute for reading the Area Guidelines and/or the Service Manual, and may not be all inclusive.

General:

There is a new GSR orientation held prior Assemblies at 8:30 am

GSRs are encouraged (but not required) to participate on a committee. (i.e. Corrections, CPC, etc.)

Please submit any group change forms to the Secretary/Registrar (you should also give a copy to your DCM)

GSRs represent their respective groups at area assemblies where they vote their group's conscience. GSRs are the vital link in keeping the groups they represent informed about issues and items on agendas and expressing their group's consciences on those things by showing up and participating and voting. GSRs attend all District/GSR Meetings for their district.

Events (Please see Area Guidelines Article V):

Delegates Workshop – February/March

Review Conference Agenda Items, pertaining to your committee, that the Delegate will be addressing in New York in April

Although most groups do not financially support GSR attendance at this workshop, any GSR, and any member of AA is encouraged to attend the Delegate’s Workshop

An Area Committee Meeting follows the workshop to set the Spring Assembly agenda.

Assemblies (8:30 am for New GSR/DCM orientation) 9:00a – 5:00p

Spring (typically March/April – before General Conference in NY)

Fall (October)

Election Assembly held every other year at Fall Conference

Conferences

Spring – 3rd Full weekend in May typically, but date and location determined by hosting district.

Fall – 3rd Full weekend in September typically, but date and location determined by hosting district. Every odd year is Election year.
