Financial: See financial report provided by our District 17 Treasurer, Bruce L. on page 2.

2009 Spring Conference: Please see the attached flyer on the Home Page of our website. We need to somehow attach a map to Pine Mountain (or copy to the BACK of the flyer.) If you attend any District or Area functions, please print a bunch & take them with you. Next conference meeting will be a short one, immediately preceding the district meeting at 6:00 PM December 30th. PLEASE TRY TO ATTEND. ****After the first of the year, the Conference Committee decided to meet twice monthly, on the second & forth Saturday of the month at 11:30 AM, AT THE IRON MOUNTAIN ALANO CLUB. For more information, call Jennifer 906-396-2668

Old business:

Cliff, of course, is taking over as acting DCM, & as such will be attending Area assemblies & conferences. He plans to have a different person transport him each time to, hopefully, rotate more new blood into service work.  John will be taking Cliff to the Area 74 Committee Meeting to be held Saturday, December 13, 2008 (2 P.M.) at 325 Franklin Street, Appleton, WI.

John inquired about electing an alternate DCM, but since elections are in October of 2009, we’ll probably wait till then.

Cliff proposed that we reimburse Steve S. $70.66 for UPC power back up for our district computer. John seconded the motion, & it passed unanimously.  Bruce will present Steve with the district check.

Cliff is the webmaster & hotline coordinator for district 17, but he would like to train an assistant & eventual successor in the near future.  Anyone that is interested can either contact Cliff W. or please attend a monthly district meeting.

It was brought up to Cliff that 0900 is the porn hot line (!) & perhaps we should change the name of our AA phone hotline to #774-0900 AA Hotline.  After some discussion, it was decided that it should stay the 0900 AA Hotline.

There were 75 hits on the porn hotline … whoops, the 0900 … this month (especially option #8 which lists the contact numbers). Steve S would like to keep his name on the contact list, to continue to serve the still-suffering alcoholic.

The District website had #106 hits this past month.  Cliff would love to receive any feedback concerning the district website.

New Business:

Meeting cards - Cliff has been making changes manually on the 600-700 meeting cards on hand inside the District Central Office.  Bruce sends a bunch with receipt when donations come in from district AA Groups. Call the district office if your meeting is in need of more meeting cards.

Printer should be hooked up soon, but we still need a USB cord … Cliff needs about $60.00 for office supplies … cartridges, USB cord, paper, and will get receipts for Bruce. We unanimously agreed with this expenditure.

Our district has no Public Information committee or Archivist, & we are in need of both. If you are interested in either of these positions, PLEASE come to our next District meeting & we can discuss the responsibilities involved. Our archive currently consists of a drawer in our district office, and there is a 2008 drawer which has updated forms, meeting list, & directory, etc.

Cliff emailed Brian H & Greg S. at the "Now & Then" with a list of our District meetings through December 2009 for the monthly calendar printing.  Cliff requested a reply to the email, so we WILL get our meetings listed… one way or the other.

The meeting closed with The Lord’s Prayer

Respectfully submitted by Jen J. District 17 Secretary,

DCM, Cliff W.                                           Page 2
