The District monthly GSR meeting was held on Tuesday, April 28th, 2009 at the District 17 Central Office, located at 373 Woodward Ave. in Kingsford. The meeting opened with the Serenity Prayer. In attendance were Cliff W., Dennis S., Aaron H., Kevin, Bruce L., John R., Debbie G., James B., Dave G., & Jen J.

2009 Spring Conference: Spring Conference May 15th - 17th, 2009 Pine Mountain Resort, Iron Mountain. The final Conference planning meeting to be held May 9th, at 11:30 AM followed by sign making work shop at 12:30 PM at the Alano Club, Iron Mountain. PLEASE TRY TO ATTEND. For more information, call Jennifer 906-396-2668. Remember this is an Area-wide function, & we need support from everyone!
2009 Intergroup update: Next Traveling Intergroup is on Sat, May 30th, 2009 Houghton (South range Community Bldg).
DCM report: James & Cliff went to spring assembly in Three Lakes April 4th where Cliff presented a District 17 report and an updated 2009 Spring Conference report. A motion was voted down that cancelled the Area 74 Inventory at Spring Conference that was set for Friday, May 15th. Bummer… Our District GSR meetings are now listed in the Now & Then, as well as the Conference Flyers (Celebrating the Trillium). Cliff has come up with a new form (expenditure sheet) for Bruce for re-imbursement. (A copy is attached for perusal) Motion to accept expenditure form & $30.99 for re-imbursement to Cliff (gas and 2-lunches Spring Assembly) made by Aaron & Dennis seconded was accepted.
Daily News: Cliff updated the Daily News on all local meetings (Daily Planner) Thanks, Cliff!
New dead bolts have been added to the District 17 Central Office, located at 373 Woodward Ave. in Kingsford. We now need new keys. Brian Kessler must get us keys ASAP. Otherwise we can only get in during office hours.
0900 AA Hotline update: 120 hits this last month!! Possible 34 telemarketers.
District 17 website update: The website recorded 119 total hits in the past month. Double wow!
District 17 Meeting Cards update: What to do…? Proposal to print up 500 for now, since IR Alano Club will be having another meeting of the board to possibly close in six months. Bruce is concerned about the cost, especially with the conference cost. The motion made by Cliff was turned down and discussion tabled till next meeting.

Archives Chair: John R. has been working on the archives (1994-2008) & has a two drawer donation coming for paper work archives from a member of the fellowship in Iron River.
We’ll decide (as a group) what should be on the Website Archives page later. Thanks John!
Public Information Committee Chair: Dennis nominated James B. as PI chair & John seconded. Unanimously accepted! Welcome James! Our new guy! James has emailed Adam K. (PI chair Area74) who he met at the Spring Assembly. John stated that there is GSO guidelines on PI in Central Office also.
