District 17 central office & website: 91 hits this month. Hostek.com (our website) is automatically charging Cliff’s credit (debit) card for the yearly charge, & he has a problem with that. Kevin: We could consider getting non-profit status & getting a credit card for the district office. We need a mike for our district office computer … also a printer/scanner. Brandon may be able to get one for the office for N/C. We should consider buying one, since we do have extra $$ in our account.

0900 AA Hotline: 75 hits with 17 possible telemarketers. Three calls on the live contact hotline #. Cliff & Ken almost had a twelve step call, but the guy drank.

Meeting Cards: We need more cards. Jen has checked with the Graphics Department at the Technical Center & they can do it with no problem. Ken: We should get a quote for 1,500 or 2,500 cards. However, there have been so many changes to the cards that it’s best to print fewer cards. Looks like Tuesday night Florence & Tuesday morning Norway will probably fold. It was decided that we’ll order 1,500 for now. All in paper!

Archives Chair: John: Has filed the conference info and has compiled an inventory. If anyone wants to print up an archive history of their group, he’ll file it. All of this is hard-copy. Cliff has put the monthly newsletters on our district computer. Scanner would help since we could scan all the information. Let’s buy a flash drive for back up.

Public Information Committee Chair: James: Letters to the doctor’s offices & for the patient. This was forwarded to the district newsletter list for perusal & approval. Cliff: Start the letter "To Whom it May Concern". Jen: Take out the "In His service," at the end … It should end as "In Service"… Otherwise, it’s too religious. (Stressing one particular higher power). Kevin: We are supposed to be representing our groups, so we should be taking these back to our groups for their suggestions. Patrick: Since James is a trusted servant, he should continue with what he’s doing. John: Yes, we need to watch our religious affiliation, especially in letters to the public. Kevin: Ditto. John: James is doing a great job in district 17, which should be the focus of his efforts. Bruce: We need to give James some $$ to help fund his efforts. On the other hand, we can’t afford to fund Big Books for every hotel etc. in town. We should set up an account for ongoing efforts. (Up-front $$ for supplies). Kevin: It’s dangerous to start setting up accounts. He should come to us with a budget, when he figures out what he needs. Bruce: Then let’s set him up with a budget ... For stamps, copies, paper, etc. John: Is against the reimbursement system. James should be able to get some $$ up-front. He should come to us with a budget submission. Amount needed for the year. James will talk to his committee & bring it up next month. Dennis suggests 3 month intervals. Dave: Thinks that’s a good idea. James: would like to have business cards printed up & can use the AA emblem. Jen will check with the Graphics department to see how much it would cost for 1,000 cards or so.

New business: Ken: The pamphlet entitled "So the Court is Sending You to AA - and You Hate the Idea" Needs to be in the packet that James is giving out to probation officers … Certain meetings are giving this out, & it’s a good pamphlet, but Jen suggests adding in the sentence "This means you must not discuss who you see at an AA meeting and they will respect your anonymity as well." Jen will get 500 printed from the Graphics department … in paper.

The Monday meeting is now at 7:00 PM in Norway at the Alliance Church on Odell street.

The meeting closed with The Lord’s Prayer

Respectfully submitted, Jen J., District secretary
