Corrections Report: I bought a can of coffee last month which left me 5 in reserve. This past month I got three cans from Early Monday Night meeting in Iron Mountain, which leaves me with 8 total.

The Florence meeting is no longer going. I recently found out that Kevin M. Will not be going in & he never got a chance to take Pete from Niagara in to show him the ropes. So this meeting will have to be tabled for the new chairperson. Kevin: They have a six month restriction for clean-time, & Kevin will be approaching that soon. They may be willing to change the day if someone else is willing to take it over. Kevin will give Dennis his phone number. As usual, I sent a Holiday card to the Correctional Center from all of us that do the meeting. Respectfully submitted, Dennis S.

Betty: Who takes care of supplies, etc.? Dennis has the coffee & other needs must be requested of the district at the monthly meeting. Floyd: Ken talked to someone & the courthouse in Iron County. There has been some difficulty with people from the court asking who was at the meeting, etc. Guidelines for court-ordered people were printed out for Floyd by James. James went with Kenny. They discussed Closed & Open Meeting guidelines, gave them the "Dear Inmate" letter, & helped them understand about other AA meeting guidelines. Their idea was to make them feel more comfortable about sending people to meetings. However, the Monday Crystal Falls meeting is a Closed AA meeting & there is a problem with sending Drug Court people to "pure AA" meetings, since our main purpose is to carry the message to the ALCOHOLIC who still suffers. After discussion, the suggestion was that if a non-alcoholic attends a Closed AA meeting & the meeting members decline to Open the meeting, the non-alcoholic should be requested to leave. Gary: His sponsor suggested that he keep his priorities straight. Teach the addicts who come to the meetings about AA & then they should start their own meeting.
