District newsletter con't...

DCM report: This is my last DCM report for this term and incoming Bruce L will be taking over the reins. It’s not like that I’m leaving the district & saying so long everyone, because I’m not.  I’m committed to remain in the district as Hotline AA Coordinator for our 0900 phone service & webmaster to our District website on the Internet until such people are trained to carry on the responsibilities, & for that reason, I’m proposing that I continue to possess a key to the District office & the one key to the outer door to the building.  Whenever I should be absent for a period of time, the building key will be possessed by DCM, Bruce.  Now at the present time, John R (archives chair), Joe L (alternate webmaster), & myself have keys to the office.  How many more office keys should be made for other committee chair members?  Our P. O. Box located at the Post Office in Iron Mountain has three keys in possession by Bruce with one & two myself. The two keys for the Post Office box will be given to incoming treasurer & alternate DCM & DCM Bruce keeps his. As for signatures on our checking account at the First National Bank in Iron Mountain: the District has three signatures with Cliff, Bruce, & Steve S. The removal of Cliff and Steve will be made & addition Joanne B & Aaron H will need to be accomplished.  The new incoming secretary Erica H has less than one year clean time. Under District policy no committee member should have less than two years clean time.  Are we to waive this policy & make an exemption in the case of Erica H as new incoming secretary? Policy waved unanimously.

Sent a copy of the Area74 Committee meeting report by incoming secretary/registrar (Mike M) to Bruce that was held on Saturday, December 12 in Eau Claire.  As DCM, I didn’t attend this meeting. The report included the new area74 webmaster (Matt K) report.  The Area74 website has a new & fresh look. Also, sent Matt K an email thanking him from District17 for taking on the responsibility as new Area74 webmaster. Right now as DCM, I’m the only one that has access to the District17 emails, that in order to view emails, one must have access through Hostek.com, our website hostess to get to the emails.  Recommendations? Webmaster should have open access.  The new batch of 1,500 Fall edition of meeting cards have manually been updated with correctness of all listed meetings, thanks in part to both Erica H & Cliff W.

Living my life 1-day at a time,

Cliff W, outgoing DCM
