DISTRICT 17 NEWSLETTER

The District monthly GSR meeting was held on Tuesday, January 26th, 2009 at the District 17 Central Office, located at 373 Woodward Ave. in Kingsford.  The meeting opened with a moment of silence & The Serenity Prayer.  In attendance were Debbie G, James B, John R, Erica H, Betty S, Cliff W, Bruce L, Gloria O, Dennis S, Jennifer J, Dave G, Marion H., Angie, Joe L. & Joanne B, Last months minutes accepted as read. Financial Report:   Financial report accepted as read.

Corrections Report:

Dennis shared:  Omar volunteered to do the Thursday night meeting in Florence at 7pm at Florence Correctional Center.

Cliff made a motion to get Grapevine Subscription for each facility including Dickinson, Iron County and Florence.  It would cost $81.00 and Joanne B. would take care of ordering.  It passed.  

Pocket-sized Big Books would be supplied by the New Hope Group.

Webmaster/Coordinator Report:  

Back on March 1, 2008 the 0900 AA Hotline went into service from the District17 Central Office in Kingsford, MI w/AT & T and EZVoice 3.3 software. Through trial, errors, and corrections the AA Hotline has been a success to District 17 and the surrounding area.

The 0900 AA Hotline __104_____ hits, including __14____ calls w/no option pressed.

The District website ___64___ hits the past month.

 The co-editor of the Now & Then (Torv) was notified to email the monthly Now & Then to the district e-mail address (dcm@district17a74.org). Also, Torv was notified to add the District monthly meeting to the announcement section of the Now & Then; the last Tuesday of each month to be held at District17 Central Office in Kingsford, MI at 6:30 p.m. (CST).

The HP (Hewlett Packard) PSC 1350 all-in-one Printer/Scanner is uploaded and installed onto our district computer. The printer has the two ink cartridges HP56 C6656 AN (black) and HP57 C6657 AN (tricolor) thanks to Jen J.  However, was unable to be recognized by the district computer.  Will attempt to correct at a later date. 

As webmaster/coordinator for District17 has the one building key and the responsibilities of the office operations that should be understood. Keeping track of office supplies, including coffee maker for monthly meeting, and the cleanliness of office space.  Whoever possesses the building key will heed to these responsibilities.

Needing coffee for the upcoming meeting in February, plus two added office keys, a proposal for an advance check of district funds to be made out to webmaster/coordinator with receipts to be obtained and turned over to the treasurer of purchases that are made, including refilling ink cartridges at Cartridges & More in the Midtown Mall.

 A total of $25 was approved by the attending committee.
