Webmaster/Coordinator Report:   2/22/11:

On Thursday, February 10 was at the district office to update the Newsletter link, the announcements on Home Page, the district officer’s link, and the archives page link.

On Tuesday, February 22 was at the district office to update option #9 of the 0900 AA Hotline, and to update the log for 0900 AA Hotline and the website counter. Also uploaded and installed any updates to the district computer and checked the emails from our website. Opened the meeting room for the Intergroup planning meeting followed by our district monthly meeting.

The District 17 Office has _600_ meeting cards in drawer.

The 0900 AA Hotline _41_ hits, including _10_calls w/no option pressed.

The District website _79_hits the past month.

The 0900 AA Hotline option #8 was active this past month with several contacts including one call from the state of Arizona. Personally, being one of the four contact numbers for January through March on option #8 of the 0900 AA Hotline, I received five calls in support and in providing information to concern people about meetings and possible treatment contacts. I also referred one woman to Al-Anon contact.

Any member of the fellowship with sobriety can become a contact on the option #8 contact listing for a 3-month period. This listing should periodically be updated, especially for those who are about to take a 3-month turn with their listing on option #8. mailto: dcm@district17a74.org).

As a regular monthly reminder, I must train people (female/male) the operation as coordinator of the 0900 AA Hotline and as webmaster of the district website. If interested in getting involved with being webmaster or coordinator for 0900 AA Hotline please call Cliff W at 906-779-0915, contact a District 17 committee member, or show up at the monthly GSR district meeting the last Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at District 17 Office in Kingsford.

Living my life 1-day at a time,

Cliff W. (Webmaster/coordinator, District17)

Events: Iron Mountain Intergroup April 9, 2011

NEW BUSINESS:

Debbie G. brought to the groups attention there is an individual that would like to start a “Big Book” Study Group and thought because of the length of his sobriety (approx. 7 mo.) that possibly someone with more time in the program could work with him on this.  There was some discussion as to if the Iron Mountain area needs another meeting and the discussion ended that if someone wants to start a group it is their privilege to do so.

Bruce L. read a letter that was drafted by him and mailed to Ken W. (Corrections) on 2/5/2011 basically stating because of lack of accountability this position should be vacated and filled with someone that can provide to our district information and status on Corrections.   Joanne B. said she thought the GSRs should bring the information to meetings and the individual meetings should vote on whether this person should or should not be voted out of the Corrections position based on the facts.  This suggestion was voted on and passed.

When anyone anywhere reaches out I want the hand of AA always to be there and for that I am responsible.

Respectfully;

Nancy H.  Secretary Dist. 17
