PI/CPC Report:

Nothing to report this month.

DCM Report:   3/29/11:

The past month I have had two Area phone conferences as a new base of communication with other DCMs in the Area. Discussions on District reports to Area were about how often to report and Majority favored twice a year. Discussion on Area Committee Chairs to educate and support district service positions by supplying workbooks and literature to district committees. Discussion on longer orientation time to better educate new DCMS and GSRs of their duties, so they can better serve their groups. Maybe though special workshops. Discussion on possible Area 74 Hotline that would direct calls to District volunteers.  Next Conference Call will be April 19th.   Went to Gladstone Inter-group and sat in both corrections and GSR meeting. Learned that District 17 corrections were doing great and that all other correction groups do report to the districts they are in. For copies of minutes for GSR meeting contact Dawn at “Marxie’s Shoppe”<marxies@jamadots.com . Will be attending the Area 74 spring assemble in Three Lakes on April 2nd. Contacted Joan LeFebvre with UW Extension and set up for PI presentation to the members Florence County Working with Incarcerated and Probationary Audiences. This will be April 26th from 9:30 - 11:30 with a half hour talk.

OLD BUSINESS:

Bruce L. asked Debbie G. what the status is of the person that wanted to start the Big Book study, Debbie stated that he decided to put it on hold for awhile.

 There was discussion if the current Corrections Chair and the co-chair that the Corrections Chair appointed should be removed because of lack of accountability.  The question also came up as to if they were removed can someone else be voted in immediately?

Joe L. made a motion and it was passed to proceed with vote for removal of Corrections Chair and co-chair to be removed immediately.

By majority vote as follows:

GSR and Board members:                                  10 Yes

GSR:                                                                   1  No

GSR:                                                                   3 Abstain

Motion was made and passed to have the District 17 Secretary notify Ken W. via mail as to vote results.

NEW BUSINESS:

There was a motion made by Aaron H. and accepted to have Dennis S. fill the Corrections Chair position immediately for the remainder of the term.

Joanne B. asked if new meeting cards should be ordered in or around the next month? A discussion resulted to table the subject for future reference.

When anyone anywhere reaches out I want the hand of AA always to be there and for that I am responsible.

Respectfully;

Nancy H.  Secretary Dist. 17
