Corrections Report 8/30/2011

Contacted Omar about Florence meeting and how it is going, he was happy to say it is going good and he looks forward to doing this meeting with James and Gordon.

The Iron Mountain Monday Early AA meeting donated two Twenty Four House a Day to the Florence Women’s AA Correctional meeting. I ordered and brought the books to the meeting so everyone could sign their name in support of this group.

Brad L. from the same group has volunteered to do the Men’s AA correctional meeting for Dickinson County with Terry G. during the winter months. Terry agreed to do the

Meeting only with him. We need the District to vote on approval for both as anyone entering the facility represents our district, not an individual’s desire to control.

Motion made to nominate Brad L. for jail meetings. Motion accepted

Dennis stated Grapevines are needed for Florence jail meetings

Nancy H. asked if there are jail meetings in Iron Co. She mentioned possible interest in having a women’s meeting.

Motion made to put Gordie in charge of Florence jail meetings. Motion accepted.

Respectfully Submitted, Dennis S.

Webmaster/Coordinator Report 8/30/2011

On July 26 at the monthly GSR meeting in Kingsford, informed by Carol the inability to log in at Hostek.com or to make any changes to the district website. This inability prevented from anyone checking on the emails sent to dcm@district17a74.org. Was able to update at the district office and a late webmaster report was emailed to Nancy, district secretary.

In the first part of August, through several reply emails with Hostek.com support, was able to gather new information on login procedures.

Simply, on July 18 the server that the district website is on was migrated into a new high availability Hosting Cloud, switching from the HELM control panel to their own custom built control panel for Hostek.com.

On August 16 with FrontPage software, had to go to the new control panel and uninstall the extension for FrontPage and then re-install the extension with new username and password so the ability to make changes to the district website by the Front page software could be performed.

Made all the necessary updates to the website with addition of district monthly newsletter, announcements, and archive page updates. At the district web-mail, read and updated emails, created new folders for storing e-mails, called Financial and Hostek folders.

I enabled a free feature called Smarter stats.

On Monday, Aug 29 at about 6 am, there was an area power failure lasting 30 minutes and the backup battery worked to keep the district computer on line.

On Tuesday, August 30 updated at the district office and prepared for the monthly district GSR meeting.

The District 17 Office has __150__ meeting cards in drawer.

The 0900 AA Hotline ___82___ hits, including __15__calls w/no option pressed.

The District website ___124____hits the past month.

Carol H and Cliff W will check with C J Graphics and present updated area meetings for the printing on 2,000 new meeting cards for the district.

Any member of the fellowship with sobriety can become a contact on the option #8 contact listing for a 3-month period. This listing should periodically be updated, especially for those who are about to take a 3-month turn with their listing on option #8. mailto:dcm@district17a74.org).

As a regular monthly reminder, must train people (female/male) the operation as coordinator of the 0900 AA Hotline and as webmaster of the district website. Carol H will be taking over for Cliff W and anyone interested in getting involved with being webmaster or coordinator for 0900 AA Hotline please contact a District 17 committee member, or show up at the monthly GSR district meeting the last Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at District 17 Office in Kingsford.

Living my life 1-day at a time,

Cliff W. (Webmaster/coordinator, District17)
