Corrections Report 11/29/2011

Terry G. and Brad L. are doing the men’s Dickinson County correctional meeting and they now have the corrections manual from World Services with instructions to pay attention to whom they serve and those that support them.

I have been told that one of the 24 Hour meditation books is not on the bag of Florence and that Bruce L. has some books for the jail. All jail meetings can have the new Grapevines since they redesigned them from years back to be correction facility acceptable. Any one wishing to donate can do so through their group GSR.

I have e-mailed the new incoming chair about lead position by members for each jail meeting rather than everyone tugging and requesting things.

God is Wonderful! Thank You all for your support of our District’s Correctional meetings.

     Respectfully submitted: Dennis S. Chairperson AA District 17

Per John R., Jill who does the Iron County meetings thanked Dickinson County women’s jail meetings for the books.

Per Aaron, Coffee is needed at the Florence County jail meetings.

In discussion regarding literature that can be used at jail meetings; it’s up to the individual conducting the meeting as to what they use but, the District can only provide AA approved literature.

     Report was read and motion made and accepted as presented.

NEW BUSINESS 11/29/2011

Bruce L. received an email from James B. in hopes to start a new meeting on Saturdays; it would be "Listen to Learn to Listen" Bruce told him no permission is needed to start a meeting. District 9 has a CD lending library for these purposes.

John R. reminded us there is also a library of tapes upstairs of the District 17 office that can be borrowed.

The new Archivist can catalog all of these tapes in the District 17 library (when we have a new Archivist).

There is a new meeting (Big Book) at the Alano Club in Iron Mountain at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday nights.

Bruce L. asked if there are new GSRs to please supply him with the following information;

Time & day of meeting

Bruce L. will register these through email but hardcopy should be mailed to GSO.
