Corrections Report 5/29/2012:

Regarding the women's jail meetings..........the schedule is completed through July with Karen K. back for the summer/fall.  Val is back doing the Florence meetings and Jill in Iron River.  Living Sober books and The Daily Reflections Books were ordered and received and Betty is bringing some to the jail on 5/30.  John is taking a copy of each to Jill in Iron River and we will get her a couple of the paperback Big Book as well.  There have been from 11-14 girls at the meetings lately and some of the girls will be "regulars" for awhile.  We have been encouraging them to hold their own meetings daily and as of last week, they had two days of meetings and said they would do a meeting everyday after supper, getting into a routine of going to meetings everyday.  That way, when they get out, they will have established a routine in their lives and hopefully will continue by going to meetings in their community.

Gordy reported that that James, Dennis, Brad and himself are doing the men's meeting and have talked to one other person about signing up for the men's jail meeting on Tuesdays.  Gordy also took a copy of Living Sober and The Daily Reflections.

     Respectfully submitted............Debbie G.

Webmaster/Coordinator Report 5/29/2012:

On Saturday, May 12 was at district office performing updates, cleaning the district office, and setting up second district computer for activation. Throughout the month was able to perform updates at home adding the district newsletter, Intergroup minutes, making changes to announcements, checking email updates, etc.

On Tuesday, May 29 at district office to find the district computer off.  On activating the computer, there was no backup battery report stating of any problem.  I believe that someone actually turned off the computer.  That last call to the AA hotline was made on 5-25.  Performed monthly updates and opened the downstairs conference room for the monthly district GSR meeting.

The District 17 Office has _450_ meeting cards in drawer divided into stacks of 50 cards.

The 0900 AA Hotline _63_ hits, including _16_ calls w/no option pressed.  Of the calls made 10 calls pressed option 8 for the listing of contact phone numbers.

The District website _131_ hits the past month.

Any member of the fellowship with sobriety can become a contact on the option #8 contact listing for a 3-month period. This listing should periodically be updated, especially for those who are about to take a 3-month turn with their listing on option #8. Email to: dcm@district17a74.org).

As a regular monthly reminder, must train people (female/male) the operation as coordinator of the 0900 AA Hotline and as webmaster of the district website. Anyone interested in getting involved with being webmaster or coordinator for 0900 AA Hotline please contact a District 17 committee member, or show up at the monthly GSR district meeting the last Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at District 17 Office in Kingsford.

Living my life 1-day at a time,

     Cliff W. (Webmaster/coordinator, District17)

It was decided that no names or genders will be provided on the 0900 AA Hotline for AA contacts option #8. Motion made and accepted.

PI/CPC Report 5/29/2012

Still need someone to handle this position.

DCM Report 5/29/2012:

Cliff W. and I set up a display at the VA Med Center for their health fair on the 16th of May and experienced the denial force that surrounds the disease, it is amazing to witness. Also went the Calumet Inter-group and sat in on the GSR meeting where we discussed district 17 workshop on service and how the time change for the Iron Mountain Inter-group had confused a lot of people who decided not to attend. It was a good idea that didn’t work.

Went by 1st Lutheran and picked up key for workshop and lined up coffee pot from Friday night meeting and E-mailed speakers on outline for the workshop

Report was read and motion made and accepted as presented.
