District 17 Newsletter

     The district monthly GSR meeting was held Tuesday June 27, 2012 at the district office, located at 373 Woodward Ave., Kingsford, MI.  The meeting was opened with a moment of silence followed by the Serenity Prayer.  In attendance were: Bruce L., Gordie P., John R, Cliff W., Nancy H., and Joanne B.

Webmaster/Coordinator Report 6/27/2012

     Once this past month I was called about the 0900 AA Hotline not available. On entering the district office, I discovered the district computer was turned off. How it got turned off? Your guess is as good as mine. I delivered meeting cards downstairs to the Community substance abuse office and informed the personnel that the district office computer must stay operative 24 hours a day. Throughout the month was able to perform updates at home adding the district newsletter, making changes to announcements, checking email updates, etc.

On Tuesday, June 26 at district office to perform monthly updates and open the downstairs conference room for the monthly district GSR meeting.

The District 17 Office has __350__ meeting cards in drawer divided into stacks of 50 cards.

The 0900 AA Hotline __48___hits, including __12__ calls w/no option pressed. And 15 calls with option 8 pressed.

The District website __83__ hits the past month.

Any member of the fellowship with sobriety can become a contact on the option #8 contact listing for a 3-month period. This listing should periodically be updated, especially for those who are about to take a 3-month turn with their listing on option #8. Email to: dcm@district17a74.org).

As a regular monthly reminder, must train people (female/male) the operation as coordinator of the 0900 AA Hotline and as webmaster of the district website. Anyone interested in getting involved with being webmaster or coordinator for 0900 AA Hotline please contact a District 17 committee member, or show up at the monthly GSR district meeting the last Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at District 17 Office in Kingsford.

DCM Report 6/27/2012

Aaron H. has stepped down as Alternate DCM, following is the email Bruce L. received on June 26, 2012 "I’m emailing you because I have to step down as Alternate DCM, I’m working in Marquette, I’m sorry. I love the job and thank you all for letting me serve you. Thank you Aaron".

Bruce L. reported that there was a very small turn out at the June 2, 2012 Service Workshop held in Iron Mountain at the First Lutheran Church.
