VAL MADE MOTION,
SECONDED BY DEBBIE, AL
Webmaster/Coordinator
Report 1/28/2013
Monday, December 3 was at
district office to change
option #9 of the AA Hotline
0900 adding a notice that
the district office would be
moving from Kingsford to
Iron Mountain by December
31. Having no connection to
the Internet at the district
office, at residence I added
that same notice to the
district website and made
updates including removing
Carol H from co-chair
webmaster/coordinator of
0900 AA Hotline as she
resigned because of other
commitments.
On Tuesday, December 11
was unable to get an
answer from the 0900 AA
Hotline. Upon entering
the district office in
Kingsford discovered
that the district
computer was turned off.
Was unable to get the
computer turned on as
all other devices had
power. Spent 2-hours at
the office boxing all
district office supplies
for the move to the
Alano Club in Iron
Mountain. With failure
to restart the computer
I disconnected all plugs
from outlet. At
residence added a notice
to the district website
that the AA Hotline 0900
was out of service til
further notice and
because of no Internet
connection at the
district office, I
brought the backup
district office computer
to my residence to hook
up and upload the
EZvoice software for the
0900 AA Hotline.
On Wednesday, December
12 assisted along with
James, Brad, Mark, &
Andrew the move of all
contents of District
Office in Kingsford
(including all Inter
group items) to the new
office upstairs the
Alano Club at 105 W
Fleshiem St, Iron
Mountain. A great job
installing door with
handle lock and bolt
lock had been performed
by Dennis S. At home I
contacted AT & T and
made appointment to move
the AA Hotline 0900 land
line to new location.
On Friday, December 14
met with Bruce L to
acquire new keys to
locks for the District
Office and met AT & T
service person to hook
up land line to the 0900
AA Hotline. Performed
duties as dust, sweep,
mop, vacuum the District
Office and arrange all
contents. Was able to
hook up the computer and
place the 0900 AA
Hotline back in service.
On Friday, January 4 was
at district office to
change option #8 adding
new contact phone
numbers for the first
quarter of 2013.
Discovered the computer
was off and that the air
temperature might have
an effect on computer
operation as with the
secured door to office
the temperature in
office is cold. Upon
departure computer
operating as room
temperature had risen.
On Saturday, January 19
was at district office
to find everything
operating and updated
option #7 of AA Hotline
Sunday district
meetings.
On Monday, January 28
was at district office
to update the report for
the scheduled monthly
GSR meeting at 6:30 pm.
Discovered the district
computer not running and
when back on with power
there was no message of
any kind of power
failure.
The District 17 Office
has __50__ meeting cards
in drawer.
The 0900 AA Hotline
_40_hits in December and
__50_ hits in January,
including a total of
_22_ calls w/no option
pressed and _5_ calls
option #8 pressed.
The District website
_98_hits in December and
_48_ hits in January to
date.
Any member of the
fellowship with sobriety
can become a contact on
the option #8 contact
listing for a 3-month
period. This listing
should periodically be
updated, especially for
those who are about to
take a 3-month turn with
their listing on option
#8. email
to:
dcm@district17a74.org).
As a regular monthly
reminder, must train
people (female/male) the
operation as coordinator
of the 0900 AA Hotline
and as webmaster of the
district website. Anyone
interested in getting
involved with being
webmaster or coordinator
for 0900 AA Hotline
please contact a
District 17 committee
member, or show up at
the monthly GSR district
meeting the last Tuesday
of each month at 6:30
pm. at District 17
Office in Kingsford.
Living my life 1-day at
a time,
Cliff W webmaster/0900
coordinator
Discussed placing
enclosure around
computer to increase
performance (enclosure
would maintain constant
temperature)
Ed B offered that he
would be happy to help
with phone options (?)
