District 17 Newsletter

Peace and Serenity to all. Here is the newsletter from our meeting held August 31st, 2006 in Crystal Falls.

     District Meeting notes, 8-31-06 (compiled from Steve and Marion’s notes.)

     Opened with the Serenity Prayer.

     Present were Steve S., DCM, Dennis (Monday Night Iron Mountain), Cliff W. (Iron Mountain VA Groups & district treasurer), Gordy P., Alternate DCM, Marion H., District Secretary, Charlie K., GSR Sat.& Mon. Alano club, Shirley D., GSR Amasa/Crystal Falls.

     (1) Cliff - Please see Financial Report. The Daily News has a Daily planner which lists all AA, Alanon, & NA meetings in the area. Cliff is still working on tracking down when it comes out and making sure it is up to date.

     (2) Dennis -Please see attached corrections report. The district will mostly likely sponsor corrections shortfalls in the way of literature and other needs as they are presented and a need is shown. There was no disagreement on this. Dennis will attempt to put a needs list together.

     (3) Steve - Intergroup questions: A report on the financial condition of the Iron Mountain Intergroup has been received and will be forwarded to all groups known to have contributed or been involved. Thanks Sharon!

     (4) District web site: If you have a computer please visit our site and check it out.

     (5) Attendance: Attendance at our District Meeting has been steadily dropping. It is summer so…Maybe this fall it will get better. Remember…your group is counting on you to attend the District meeting so they can know what is going on in our area. If you are a GSR please attend or get an alternate to attend.

     (6) Iron Mt. /Kingsford will have our Intergroup in April of 2007. Thank you for attending the Intergroup and bidding for us.

     (7) Charlie K. will be turning in a report on last year’s picnic and the forthcoming picnic. The report will be available for all the groups who contributed money from our area. Thanks Charlie.
