WEBMASTER REPORT:
No report read, Cliff not in attendance.
(Webmaster report received by email 08-28-13)
Webmaster Report: 8-26-13
On Friday, August 2 was notified that the sound card
for the EZvoice3.4 software was installed and that the 0900 AA Hotline was
back on line. Called the Hotline and the recorded main message was indeed
announced with no connection/transfer to any numbered mailbox.
On Tuesday, August 6 was able to get to the district
office and discovered that Ed B had indeed recorded a main message to
activate the 0900 AA Hotline but had not recorded the messages for the nine
mailboxes (1-meetings Mon, 2-meetings Tues, 3-meetings Wed, etc., 8-listing
live contact #’s and 9-local AA info and events. Spent the time to record
messages for main and all mailboxes. As reported by Ed B at monthly GSR
meeting on Monday, July 29 the 3 district office computers were stripped to
make one computer for the district office. However, all original files were
missing or had been deleted.
At home called AA Hotline 0900 with answer and transfer
intact. A second call made later resulted in a busy signal. A third call
much later or next day resulted in no answer.
On Thursday, August 8 reported to the district office
to find computer turned on however in a sleep mode that maybe prevents the
EZvoice software from performing (my guess).
The EZvoice software looks to be good and in operative
mode however the district computer has a mind of its own that only Ed B can
operate. I’m at total loss with the computer.
As for the district website during the month able to
update the files at home base making all if any changes to schedule and
events. On August 26 received invoice notification from Hostek.com that our
annual charge of $70.93 webhost service will be taken from our debit card
charge as of September 7, 2013.
Unable to make monthly GSR meeting on Monday, August 26
because of other commitments and emailed this report to Mark S.
The District 17 Office has
_650_meeting cards in drawer.
The 0900 AA Hotline had _0_hits the past month including a total of _0_
calls w/no option pressed and _0_ calls option #8 pressed. The
District website _87_hits the past month.
Any member of the fellowship with sobriety can become a
contact on the option #8 contact listing for a 3-month period. This listing
should periodically be updated, especially for those who are about to take a
3-month turn with their listing on option #8.
As a regular monthly reminder, must train people
(female/male) the operation as coordinator of the 0900 AA Hotline and as
webmaster of the district website. Anyone interested in getting involved
with being webmaster or coordinator for 0900 AA Hotline please contact a
District 17 committee member, or show up at the monthly GSR district meeting
the last Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. at District 17 Office in Kingsford.
Living my life 1-day at a time,
Cliff W. (Webmaster/coordinator, District 17)
Per Bruce, 900 is not working. Kathy said she had had
success with dialing 900. Gordy tried dialing at meeting with no
success--per Ed this is an ongoing issue with which requires constant
maintenance--Ed was able to get the 900 back up and running during meeting.
Per Ed, recent back surgery has put him behind for the
last two weeks.
Per Ed, spent $14.73 for 2
refurbished ink cartridges. He will submit receipts for.
Meeting change from Masonic to First Lutheran has still not been uploaded to
district site.
Ed was voted to position as
webmaster. Cliff will no longer be webmaster.
PPICPP REPORT:
Cliff has mentioned an individual with an interest in
this, however this person is not ready to for the responsibility at this
present time.
Per Jaeme, has been in a series of union meetings and
they have been voting on getting brochure holders for AA-related
literature--there is still one more meeting to go for final "yes" vote,
which will be next meeting, the third Thursday of next month. Jaeme stated
that this is only on the union side and expressed hope that companies will
pick up the same type of outreach as a potential preventative solution to
substance issues. She mentioned that out of the last 2 drug test, 4
employees dropped dirty and there has been 2 separate incidents where
individuals were involved in substance-related issues.
DCM REPORT:
Per Bruce, has not been able to put together--has a
conference call with Wednesday with DCM
NEW BUSINESS:
*Bruce will be retiring as DCM in October after serving
as such for the last six years--treasurer will also be retiring--discussed
bringing up open positions at regular meetings--per Deb, also mentioned
approaching personally individuals who's abilities may be brought to
positions and who may be interested--per Bruce, it is extremely important
that a replacement DCM be found, as the district will be "dark" without a
DCM (without representation or voice in AA).
Bruce requested that acting secretary send an email to each person on the current email address list as a means of making the list current. In addition Bruce asked that each person on the address list be asked which meeting they considered their home group. This was done and the current address list being used to BCC meeting minutes is based on the responses.
