Question brought up as to how much
meeting
cards
cost. Cost was surmised at about 200.
Per Betty, will have to go through
records or contact Cliff for a more
precise answer.
Per Betty, previous to cards, wanted to
make sure rent was paid. The current
amount in treasury being a little over
500 should pose to issue as to the
purchase of cards.
Question as to whether cliff will
continue to help out with computer.
Debbie made motion to accept treasury
report, second by Kathy and all in favor.
WEBMASTER REPORT:
Unable to make the monthly GSR meeting
because of health issues. Since January
2014 have kept the district 17 website
updated as well as the website at Hostek
Web Host site for District 17. This has
been performed in my home office and
will only be considered done anonymous
to date.
On Wednesday, April 30 received call
from Steve S who stated that he had
spent an hour at the district 17 office
updating the office computer into
corrected operation and activation to
the Internet. He further stated that
there are continuing issues with the
operation of the EZVoice 3.4 software
used for the AA Hotline 0900 number.
The District 17 Office has _200_meeting
cards in drawer.
The 0900 AA Hotline had _0_hits
from1-27-14 to 4-28-14.
The District website _330_hits the past
3-months with the counter at 8,633 total
hits.
Any member of the fellowship with
sobriety can become a contact on the
option #8 contact listing for a 3-month
period. This listing should periodically
be updated, especially for those who are
about to take a 3-month turn with their
listing on option #8. Email to:
dcm@district17a74.org.
As a regular monthly reminder, must
train people (female/male) the operation
as coordinator of the 0900 AA Hotline
and as webmaster of the district
website. Anyone interested in getting
involved with being webmaster or
coordinator for 0900 AA Hotline please
contact a District 17 committee member,
or show up at the monthly GSR district
meeting the last Monday of each month at
6 p.m. at District 17 Office at Alano
Club Iron Mountain.
Living my life 1-day at a time,
Cliff W.
CORRECTIONS REPORT:
Per Val, there is one individual in
Florence that has no interest in
meetings. Another individual was in
during the week, however, she couldn't
get in there as meetings are scheduled
for Mondays only and individual has
since been released. Little more to
report from Florence (other than recent
suicide incident, which is still under
investigation).
Per Debbie, both blocks are together now
for Women's meetings, a situation that
could change--but everything is "going
along" .
Per Betty, ordered some pocket Big Books
and gave to Dennis and he has brought
in. Another group ordered Daily
Reflections and they are down there.
Per Debbie, is going to ask Monday group
for assistance in regard to books--we
can continue to ask other groups for
some assistance--we get them in and then
they're gone--
Per Betty, Grapevine requested and
asking if anybody has backup copies
(just cannot have staples)--
(Motion to accept, all in favor.)
PI/CPC REPORT
Per Jaeme, brochures are up on display
at Systems. There have been two
incidences concerning silliness in
regards to the cards, one in particular
in which an individual was singled out.
Jaeme consulted with HR about this
information being misused and the person
affected reassured HR that she'd no
issue.
Per Jaeme this is a union decision and
not the company's--employees may have
misunderstood and thought the company
placed information there. Nevertheless
information is up and maybe HR can clear
up any confusion with employees--
Per Jaeme, drug tests of late have
resulted in dirty drops--so there is a
need for information pertaining to
recovery assistant.
Per Val has had success with information
posted at Pride industries and has one
person she now brings with her to
meetings until they are comfortable
going alone. HR has been amenable with
her posting this information in the
Pride breakroom.
Per Debbie, while we have no PPICP as
such, work in this regard is such as
mentioned.
(Motion made, all in favor)
OPEN DISCUSSION THROUGHOUT MEETING:
INTERGROUP EVENT DISCUSSED
Per Kathy, lost money on Intergroup
event--about 40.00, so fairly close to
washing out. Soda sales were limited and
expenses were primarily those of
refreshments, rent and insurance. Needs
to contact Steve for report and has been
unable to thus far.
Per Kathy, over 115 in attendance that
signed in.
Per Debbie and Kathy food very well
received.
Per Kathy evening went well has received
positive feedback and "everything's
tucked away until next year". Does not
know who is going to organize event for
next year--she will not be. Kathy
mentioned that Steve relayed the need
for another chair in regards to this.
She also addressed the lack of committee
in terms of organizing the event,
although volunteers did show up on day
of event and set-up went smoothly.
Date (April 11) secured and place
secured for next year's event and lease
has been signed.
Per Debbie, speculated if same kitchen
crew will helping next year.
Also discussed was the possibility of
setting up for 200 attendees next year
in a fashion that precludes individuals
"bunching up" in one area--participants
had a tendency to gravitate toward the
back, leaving the front sparsely seated.
This arrangement would also require less
work on take-down.
DCM REPORT:
Per Debbie, still do not have DCM for
district
17. Bruce
has been good about filling in as a
favor and has been active in the area,
so district not completely
inactive.
Per betty, addressed how to get a more
diverse crowd involved in officer roles
within district--these are good roles to
apply talents once some sobriety has
been established.
Per Debbie, many groups in area have
GSR's that do not attend GSR meetings
which results in an issues of
communication within the district. There
is a need to continue to get the word
out concerning this.
Monday meetings do no have GSR.
Presently Kathy is GSR for Early Birds,
Jaeme for Women's Thursday, Betty for
Friday and Val for Tuesday night
Florence meetings.
Responsibilities of DCM discussed in
addition to the importance of getting
people to exposed to GSR meetings and
thereby potentially more involved.
Discussed the situation resulting from
interim DCM doing so only a purely
temporary basis. No alternate was found
or trained to prevent district from
becoming
inactive. In addition, discussed
was the fact that improper training has
resulted in communication issues and
inconsistencies of service on the part
of officers and service roles. The fact
that many of these roles are incidental
outcomes may play a part in this.
Agreed that monies need to be used
locally to meet needs before being send
to NY.
General agreement in communicating the
importance of service roles. One does
not have to be GSR to come to GSR
meetings and it is a great doorway to
further involvement.
Per Val, maybe a reminder may be put out
to area meetings that there is a monthly
GSR meeting.
OTHER BUSINESS:
Masonic Church changed to First Lutheran
Friday night.
Wednesday Randville has been changed to
7 instead of 7:30
Above changes need to be reflect on
meeting cards.
Betty will get updated information and
contact Cliff or Bruce to see about
correct changes being added to cards.
Meeting concluded with Debbie
encouraging everyone to keep trying to
back to GSR meetings to keep district
floating along.
The meeting closed with Lord's Prayer.
