SECRETARY'S REPORT:
Per Cliff,
there is a copy of July Newsletter
on district
website
CORRECTIONS REPORT:
Per Debbie, not too much to report. Have
been getting 3 - 5 girls at meetings and
things have been going well. Sandy has a
couple more books coming with the cards this
week. More books are always needed and if
anyone can bring this up at meetings perhaps
more could be donated for this purpose.
Per Karen, VA will be giving more books,
Cliff has book order
Per Val Monday is the "same" in terms of
nonattendance. If someone comes in they are
usually out in 2 days.
Per Matt meeting all set up and going
facilitator is Dan and Christie and Jill
Karen mentioned that at assembly meeting it
was brought up that in U.P. there is no
corrections chairperson and this will be
brought up at fall conference. It will then
be decided what to do concerning the
situation. Previous chair was Willy who
resigned due to health issues and currently
there is no replacement. If anyone is
interested in this position or know anyone
who might be interested this can be brought
up at fall conference.
Cliff mentioned that there is a corrections
chair for Wisconsin who contacted him
personally using AA hotline and she referred
two men being discharged from Detroit, one
of which has arrived. This individual
(Brian) has been making meetings and
performing service work daily over last
three weeks. Another man is getting out in
October and Cliff sent him a meeting card
and a letter
Karen mentioned that if one is area
corrections chair there is a budget to cover
expenses for facilitating.
WEBMASTER REPORT:
Have continued being active to keep the
district 17 website updated as well as the
website at Hostek Web Host site for District

As treasurer New Hope Group in Iron Mountain
it was agreed by the New Hope Group
conscious in our book order to include

cards in drawer.
The 0900 AA Hotline had _54_hits this past
month.
The District website recorded _128_hits this
past month with the counter at 9,036 total
hits.
Any member of the fellowship with sobriety
can become a contact on the option #8

listing should periodically be updated,
especially for those who are about to take a
3-month turn with their listing on option
#8.
As a regular monthly reminder, must train
people (female/male) the operation as
coordinator of the 0900 AA Hotline and as
webmaster of the district website. Anyone
interested in getting involved with being

PI/CPC REPORT:
Per Jaeme, she randomly makes check on
recovery material in break rooms and it
looks like nothing has been touched
Additionally, Val checks periodically on
material in the break room of Pride and it
does look like some material has been taken.
Per Debbie if we know anyone who works at a
larger company, say Grede Foundries, this may be a
means of getting material distributed.
Per Cliff, Brad, who was at last meeting
gave him about 100 cards and he was going to
distribute them to various places, hospitals
and so forth. Cliff stated that Brad is
getting involved and thinks at election time
there's a good chance he may step up to GSR
chair. Brad as well will also be helping
with computer.
NEW BUSINESS, OLD BUSINESS AND BUSINESS IN
GENERAL:
Debbie need to continue to remind folks of
officer positions
Per Betty as GSR received info in mail
concerning international conference in
Atlanta in the coming July. She set
information in pamphlet cabinet at First
Lutheran Church and if anyone is interested
they can take look at it..
Per Karen, Gloria and I are going--one of
the things that's different this coming year
is that one must register before reserving a
room. Once registered one is given
authorization to reserve room. The reason
for this is that the longer one waits to
register the chances are that available
lodging will be further out of town and at
this time they are not offering shuttle
service which has been discontinued to keep
registration price at 100. One can get a
Metro pass as an alternative. In other
words, don't wait for the last mine to
register. There is also some information
concerning the international conference
available at Alano.
Per Debbie, Atlanta is not "that large" even
the suburbs are within 15 minutes of
downtown.
Gordy and I do make sure that resource
center in Florence has literature per Val
Rumors of Alano closing this discussion has
been tabled.
INTERGROUP:
Per Karen, attended area committee meeting
with Gloria on Aug. 9 at three lakes in WI
and it was a full day. The delegate gave
report in addition to the treasure and DCMs.
Attendance was thin maybe 35
total.
One of the discussions dealt with the
increase in price of literature which was
24% on a lot of items and their concern as a
result of these increases was that donations
go down when the price of literature
increases a past delegate was checking into
--
They do have a new area website that has
been in the works for about a year only a
few people from each area will have access
because they are putting area on minutes and
full names must be used to access
A lot of what went on at meeting was setting
dates and agendas brought flyers back for
Fall Conference in Eau Claire in September.
Also brought flyers and other literature
back for intergroups.
Gloria had made motion that she was hoping
time would be set aside for special
committee meetings but was voted down. Also
brought back reports pertaining to price
increase and left them in Alano
Lastly if anyone or any
group wants books when Gloria and
I go to spring and fall conference
literature is available there for less cost
than ordering them.
Meeting closed with Lord's prayer.
