Subject:  Monthly GSR Meeting
Date:  Saturday, September 27, 2003
Location:  Alano Club, Iron Mountain, Michigan
                             105 W Fesheim St.

     At 5:30 (CST) this meeting was called to order by DCM Bill D. with a moment of silence followed by the Serenity Prayer.  Those in attendance were Bill, Charles K., Larry W., Kay G., Sharon W., Jennifer J., Eleanor F., and Cliff W.
     Cliff submitted the minutes of the previous meeting for review.  A motion was made to accept and passed as mailed.
     The financial report (see-attached sheet) then submitted by Sharon for review. A correction was made concerning the 1000 meeting cards printed.  The new cards were made out at C J Graphics in Kingsford, rather than Standard Printing of Iron Mountain.  Sharon then stated that the new cost for printing had increased from previous batch.  A motion was made to accept and passed as corrected.
     OLD BUSINESS: Under-sheriff Pete Schlitt was unable to attend this meeting in reference to the 0900 AA hotline # located at the Dickinson County Sheriff’s office.  This discussion was tabled.
     A discussion on the subject of AA material for local jails was tabled.
     Larry then stated that on the subject of District 17 holding a GSR workshop, which a weekend in December would be available for Torv & Bob to hold the workshop.  A discussion ensued with Cliff to look into a place to hold the workshop.  It was to be understood that the workshop would be on a Saturday, and would last approximately eight hours.
     Any nominations of officers for District 17 are requested to be at the monthly GSR meeting to be held on Saturday, October 25th, 2003.  A discussion then ensued on an attentive slate to be announced.  Larry to be DCM; Bill to be alternate DCM; Cliff as new Treasurer; and Daryl J. as new Secretary.  The term of office is for two years starting in January 2004.
     NEW BUSINESS: It was reported that the Alano Club is in search of a boiler to heat this building.  As of this date, no offers have been forth coming.  A discussion ensued on moving next month’s GSR meeting.  Sharon stated the First Lutheran Church of Iron Mountain has a room accessible for such a meeting.  A motion was made to accept and passed that next month’s GSR meeting (Sat Oct 25th at 5:30 P.M. CST) to be moved to the First Lutheran Church.  The location of the church is next to Kentucky Fried Chicken at the corner of US 2/141 and ‘H’ street in Iron Mountain.  Turning south at Sound North business brings you to the East Side of the church and parking lot.  The room for the GSR meeting is on the East Side of the church.
     Bill then shared about things he has learned in his tenure as DCM.  One thing that he was impressed with was that there are some Areas of AA, where AA Groups throughout the District host the Monthly GSR Meeting.  Hummmm……
