Financial Chair Report: Attached May Financial Report provided by District 17 Treasurer, Bruce L. Thanks, Bruce!

John bought two boxes of hanging files for $28.40 & would like to be reimbursed. This was accepted.  It was proposed and accepted to add a link on our District website of District, Area, & New York addresses for AA Groups making contributions.

Corrections Chair Report: Harry S. & Kevin M. will be doing jail meetings in Wisconsin. Debbie will be doing the women’s meeting in Dickinson County. Yah, Debbie! Still need volunteers for men’s & women’s meetings in Dickinson & Iron counties. (Two years clean time needed in Michigan, but not in Wisconsin.) James suggests a sign-up sheet to send around to meetings.

2009 Spring Conference: Spring Conference was held May 15th - 17th, 2009 Pine Mountain Resort, Iron Mountain. Post conference meeting will be held Saturday June 6th, 11:30 AM. Decision was made to have (Main Street pizza) & pop.

2009 Intergroup: Saturday, May 30th, 2009 Houghton (South range) Normal times (EST) … With dance to follow … Flyer is attached:

0900 AA Hotline: 122 hits with possible 32 telemarketers. Leslie from Vulcan wants to do the hotline, too. She’ll be our female voice.

District 17 central office: One master key for the deck door & stairwell door at 1st floor.

District 17 central website: 120 hits. Spring Conference has been moved to archives

District 17 meeting cards: 100 cards left on hand. Since we don’t know about the Iron River Alano Club yet (May be closing in six months), suggestion that we get 1,000 cards with a new color (powder blue).  This was seconded and approved.  Cliff will contact CJ graphics with an updated proof of meetings.

Archives Chair: John R. from Iron River the archives chair for District 17 has worked in getting the archives filing all straightened out. Nice work, John.

Public Information Committee Chair:  Our new PI chair, James B is working hard.  He needs a committee, but will be starting out on his own and as suggested will get a committee later on down the road.  Needs to get meeting cards to hospitals, schools, etc.  He received the PI guidelines from John R and met with Area chair, Andy, at the Spring Conference.  Bruce had read James e-mail & sees his point about needing $$$ for literature & pamphlets.  As was suggested the District WILL need to give James money for financing his job eventually.  The budget will need to be set up through the district.  Donated money will come to the district & can be allocated to James for PI.   Ken W. has volunteered to work with James on PI.  James received a donation of $5 from Dennis S.

The meeting closed with The Lord’s Prayer                                                page 2
